About Me
Hi, I'm Whitney.
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 18 years of experience supporting adolescents, adults, and families through life's challenges and transitions. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Practices from the University of Hartford and have completed specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach to treating trauma and helping people heal from difficult life experiences.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens within a safe and authentic therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out. Together, we'll explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck while building on the strengths and resilience you already possess.
I believe therapy works best when it is tailored to the unique needs, identities, and experiences of each person. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, we'll work together with curiosity, honesty, and compassion to help you better understand yourself and move toward the life you want to create.
Therapy can be a place to slow down, gain clarity, heal from past experiences, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been lost, overlooked, or burdened along the way. My hope is that our work together helps you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected—to yourself, to others, and to what matters most to you.
Safety
I strive to create a space where you can show up authentically without fear of judgment. You are welcome here exactly as you are, with all parts of your experience honored and respected.
Curiosity
Instead of judgment, we’ll approach your thoughts, emotions, and patterns with openness and curiosity. This helps us understand what’s underneath your experiences so real change can happen.
My Values
Connection
I believe meaningful change happens within a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. My goal is to build a space that feels collaborative, genuine, and grounded in connection.
Empowerment
Therapy is about helping you reconnect with your own strengths and inner wisdom. I aim to support you in building confidence and making choices that feel aligned with who you are and what you value.
Humor
When appropriate, humor can bring lightness and perspective into the therapy process. Laughter can be a powerful part of feeling human, connected, and grounded even in difficult moments.
Compassion
We will approach your struggles with kindness and compassion, which allows space for healing, self-understanding, and greater acceptance of your experience.
Therapy with me might be a good fit if:
• You’re ready to feel more grounded, steady, and like yourself again.
• You’re looking for a space to slow down and make sense of what’s been feeling heavy.
• You’re curious about how your story has been shaped—and how it might be reshaped.
• You’re looking for practical tools alongside deeper emotional understanding.
• You’re ready to step back and look at your experiences with more patience and perspective.
